Institute of
Vedic Psychology |
|
|
| The Institute of
Vedic Psychology exists to promote the open-minded investigation
of the origins, functions and ultimate utility of the phenomena
of consciousness. The word Veda comes from the ancient
language of Sanskrit meaning simply unbiased knowledge. All too
often knowledge is restricted into various categories. The word
Psychology comes from the ancient Greek words psyche
meaning soul or breath of life and logos meaning word or
effectively study. The IVP holds central to its perspective that
if the ultimate truth is to be learned about consciousness as it
presents itself to us, then due to the fact that we are seeking
to study something via our use of that same thing then all
avenues of investigation must be utilised. In this end the IVP
seeks to integrate scientifically the methods of empirical
research with the study of the Vedic literatures to establish a
fuller knowledge of this important area of study. |
